North Sikkim (Lachung – Lachen) – Important Note

• Firstly, all the North Sikkim (Lachung / Lachen) packages start from Gangtok and end at Gangtok.

• Additionally, all guests are kindly requested to carry minimal luggage when traveling to North Sikkim and leave the remaining luggage at the hotel in Gangtok. This is primarily due to the challenging road conditions in North Sikkim, particularly during trans-shipment caused by landslides and road blockages.

• Moreover, guests must carry a valid photo ID proof such as Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License, along with 2-4 passport size photographs. Please note that PAN Card and Aadhar Card are not considered valid ID proofs for obtaining permits. For children above 5 years, a Birth Certificate or School ID card is acceptable. Both original and photocopies of the documents are required.

• Furthermore, most hotels in Lachen and Lachung offer vegetarian food.

• Moreover, the hotels in these areas provide basic amenities and serve simple food prepared by the locals rather than professional hotel chefs.

• Additionally, Gurudongmar Lake is located at an altitude exceeding 17,000 feet, resulting in significantly low oxygen levels. Therefore, we strongly advise against visiting Gurudongmar Lake for children below 8 years, individuals above 60 years, and guests with heart ailments, COPD, or any pre-existing medical conditions.

• Besides, due to heavy snowfall during the winter season, vehicles may only be able to reach the snow point on the way to Yumthang Valley and Gurudongmar Lake.

• Moreover, the excursion to Zero Point (Yumesamdong) is optional and can be arranged for an additional cost.

• Furthermore, it is important to note that there may be inconveniences arising from the shortage and irregularity of electric power supply.

Nathulla Pass Permit:

• Moreover, Nathulla Pass serves as the gateway to the Indo-China border and the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from India.

• Additionally, the availability of the Nathula Pass Permit depends entirely on the Sikkim Government and BSF (Border Security Force).

• Furthermore, it is possible to obtain the permit on the same day as the Tsomo Lake and Baba Mandir excursion from Gangtok.

• Additionally, please be aware that Nathula Pass is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

• Furthermore, to process the permit, we require the names of all guests traveling with us. The processing of the permit typically takes a minimum of 2 days, but the permit will be issued on the same day as the tour.

• Moreover, if the permit is available, guests have the option to join the tour at an additional charge of Rs. 5,000/- per vehicle. • Furthermore, guests must carry a valid photo ID proof such as Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License, along with 2 passport size photographs. Please note that PAN Card and Aadhar Card are not considered valid ID proofs for the permit. For children above 5 years, a Birth Certificate or School ID card is acceptable. Both original and photocopies of the documents are required.

This is to inform you that, in order to regulate and accommodate more tourists at Nathula Pass, the Department of Tourism, in consultation with travel agents, has implemented the following rules:

• Firstly, in the case of less than 6 people from one travel agent, the department generally combines a small number of tourists from one travel agent with another small group from a different travel agent for the 4 km journey up and down before reaching Nathula Pass.

• Additionally, the Indian Army allows visits to Nathula Pass only between 11:00 hrs and 13:00 hrs. Therefore, guests are required to start their journey early from Gangtok. In case of any delay in starting from Gangtok, we cannot guarantee the visit even if the permit has been confirmed.

• Furthermore, please note that if the Nathula Pass permit cannot be obtained due to adverse weather conditions, landslides, or any other reasons, we will refund the supplement amount at the end of the tour.

• Lastly, it is important to understand that if the Nathula Pass permit is issued, but guests are unable to visit Nathula Pass due to any unforeseen circumstances, we regret to inform you that we are unable to provide any refunds.
